Welcome to the latest Cecil Sharp House building project update from Rosie Baker, Operations Director at the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS).

The team at Cecil Sharp House would like to thank you all for your patience while building works continue at Cecil Sharp House.

Cafe

October is over and the worst of the building works disruptions are behind us at last! I can now share the happy news that as of last week we have a newly refurbished and fully functioning café! Pink Foods are finally able to welcome you with delicious hot soups, light bites, tapas and bagels as well as their gorgeous cakes and melt in the mouth brownies. Draft ale and beer is now on sale in the bar, our house ale is Wandle by Sambrooks Brewery, based in Battersea and the Hells Lager is courtesy of the famous Camden Town Brewery, so it's all locally brewed, top quality and tastes truly lovely.

Toilets

In other news the accessible toilets are now open for business too and the reception area is nearly complete. The lift itself will be the final piece of the puzzle, taking you up and down the house from the beginning of December.

That’s all for now, we hope to see you again in Cecil Sharp House this autumn, we've a cracking programme ahead from now 'til Christmas so do come and check out the new food, drink and facilities and let us know what you think.

The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) has been awarded a grant of £378,842 from Arts Council England, as part of their small capital grants programme, to improve access at Cecil Sharp House. This project is also supported by the City Bridge Trust, the City of London Corporation’s charity, The Headley Trust, and the Friends of Cecil Sharp House.
