As part of the learning programme of The Full English project, supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) is hosting professional development courses across the country. These events will demonstrate the successful use of folk arts to enhance learning in the school curriculum from key stages 1 - 5, including work at GCSE and A Level, inspired by The Full English digital archive of manuscript materials. If you want to gain the knowledge, skills and resources to start using folk music, dance and drama to enhance your teaching, find an event happening near you and get involved!
These practical courses will share material developed through The Full English learning programme. Each one will have a unique regional flavour and focus (eg music with dance, storytelling or SEN), with differentiated sessions for different key stages (primary and secondary).
Providing ‘ready to go' knowledge, skills and resources, these courses will enable participants to start using folk music, song, dance, drama / storytelling immediately in their teaching!
No previous experience of folk music, folk dance or other folk arts required.
