The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) has announced a new exhibition and associated series of special events at its north London centre as part of its first ever commission to marry contemporary crafts with traditional folk arts, music and dance.
Please note that the Cecil Sharp House offices will be closed from 5.30pm on Thursday 17 April and will reopen on Tuesday 22 April at 9.30am.
Between Tuesday 1 and Friday 4 April inclusive the lift at Cecil Sharp House will be out of service due to essential planned maintenance work. Please note that during this period there will be no step-free access to the building, or between floors, and at times there will be construction noise.
As part of the learning programme of The Full English project, supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) is hosting professional development courses across the country. These events will demonstrate the successful use of folk arts to enhance learning in the school curriculum from key stages 1 - 5, including work at GCSE and A Level, inspired by The Full English digital archive of manuscript materials. If you want to gain the knowledge, skills and resources to start using folk music, dance and drama to enhance your teaching, find an event happening near you and get involved!
